MID-YEAR INFO

We are thrilled to present our very first Mid-Year Showcase at The League Studios!

This exciting new event is a chance for our dancers to take the stage and celebrate everything they’ve achieved so far this year — and for families to witness the energy, growth, and joy that fills our studios each week.

Unlike our end-of-year production, this relaxed and fun-filled showcase focuses on giving students more opportunities to perform, gain confidence, and share their love of dance in a supportive environment.

Uniform & Footwear Reminder

Please ensure your dancer’s uniform is clean, tidy, and fits well.

Uniforms: Make sure all items are freshly washed, wrinkle-free, and free from stains or damage.

We want every performer to feel proud, polished, and stage-ready — even in a more casual setting.

HAIR AND MAKEUP

Hairstyle Requirements

All dancers must arrive with their hair neatly parted down the middle and slicked into a low-to-mid ponytail at the back of the head (not too high, not too low — aim for the middle of the back of the head).

To achieve a clean, professional look, please follow these guidelines:

1. Create a clean centre part

– Use the end of a tail comb to part the hair evenly down the middle from forehead to crown.

– Make sure the part is straight and symmetrical.

2. Slick the hair back firmly into a ponytail

– Gather the hair into a ponytail at the middle back of the head (not low near the neck or high on the crown).

– Use a firm bristle brush or a fine-tooth comb to smooth the hair as you go.

3. Use strong-hold products to keep everything in place

– Hair gel (e.g. VO5, Taft, or Schwarzkopf) to slick the hair down.

– Hairspray for hold and to prevent flyaways (try a freeze-hold or extra-strong variety).

– Water spray bottle to help manage the hair and blend in gel smoothly.

4. Finish with hair ties and bobby pins

– Secure the ponytail tightly with a thick, no-slip hair tie in the same colour as the hair.

– Use bobby pins to pin down any loose sections or shorter hairs.

– Optional: lightly go over the style with a toothbrush sprayed with hairspray to tidy flyaways around the face.

All hair must be slick, neat, and tidy — no bumps, loose bits, or frizz.

Please arrive with hair completely done before arrival to keep things running smoothly backstage.

Makeup Requirements

For this showcase, NO makeup is required. As we’re not performing under intense stage lighting, we want our dancers to feel comfortable, confident, and natural. This is a chance to celebrate their progress in a relaxed and supportive environment — there's no need for heavy stage glam!
